Review? Short one at least. Christian metallers Impending Doom have just recently dropped a new single “For the Wicked”, hoping to prove they have what it takes to make the mark in the metal scene. Holy blast beats, this is almost a straight death metal track with machine gun guitar lines, the vocals of a man’s throat being torn to shreds, and tight, precise mechanical drumming. All this is fine and dandy, but this track crosses been-there-done-that territory. Its not like we have heard that open chord breakdown with splash crashes everywhere before. But what can you expect from a genre that created a legacy from this formula.
